JOB DESCRIPTION
The Los Fresnos Police Department is a dynamic agency with an authorized strength of 15 sworn officers and 6 non-sworn employees. The men and women of the Los Fresnos Police Department are dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all those who reside in, or visit, our community. The Department utilizes cutting-edge technology as well as proven, traditional law enforcement techniques in providing police services to the citizens of Los Fresnos.

The Los Fresnos Police Department is committed to serving and protecting the citizens and visitors of the City of Los Fresnos. The mission of the Los Fresnos Police Department includes:

The protection of life and property,
The preservation of the peace and the suppression of disorder,
The prevention of crime and the promotion of traffic safety,
The apprehension of offenders and the recovery of stolen property, and
The enforcement of city ordinances, state laws and federal laws within the framework of law and societal expectations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- be a U.S. citizen
- possess a valid driver's license
- be at least 21 but no more than 44 years of age
- applicants must have completed a State of Texas approved Police Academy, and be eligible for commission by T.C.L.E.O.S.E.

SELECTION PROCESS
- written entrance exam

- polygraph test
- drug screening test
- background investigation
- medical examination
- physical agility test
- psychological test
